Lemony Snicket Books In Order

Lemony Snicket is the pen name of US author Daniel Handler (1970-) , who has created a Victorian Gothic world where the story of three orphans is told – in somewhat of a dark humoured, sarcastic way – in 13 books making up the A Series of Unfortunate Events series. First published in 1999, the books have gained critical and commercial acclaim worldwide – selling over 60 million copies in more than 40 languages, and leading to a film and television series, as well as a computer game and plenty of varied merchandise.

The series follows  Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire after their parent’s death in a fire, when they are placed in the custody of Count Olaf, a horrible old relative who tries his hardest to steal their inheritance. As the children attempt to flee and become their own people,  mysteries are unveiled around their family history, and conspiracies involving the Volunteer Fire Department (V.F.D.), a secret society.
