Latin America has produced some of the most important writers of the past century and a half. Not only are the works of the best Latin American writers exceptional literary works, but also good sellers.

It’s a challenging exercise to select writers to represent our pick of the 10 best Russian authors, in part because of the richness of the Russian literary landscape.

The best French authors have made a significant contribution to world literature down the years. Europe, a continent rich in its variety of languages, has had thousands of great writers, many of which were French.

Who are the best English writers of all time? Such a list is inevitably subjective given the huge number of great English writers, but we’ve given it a go none-the-less.
